Service Description

60 min. 3 player min/6 player Max Objective: To enhance the skills and strategies of intermediate pickleball players, focusing on refining techniques, improving shot selection, and developing game awareness. Duration: 60 minutes Warm-up (5 minutes): In the gym; Jogging on treadmills/or ride stationary bike to warm up the muscles. Yoga room Dynamic stretching focusing on shoulders, arms, legs, and core. Drills (40 minutes): Dinking Drill (10 minutes): Players partner up on opposite sides of the net. Rally dinks (short, soft shots) back and forth over the net, aiming for the non-volley zone (kitchen). Emphasize control and placement over power. Rotate partners after every 20 shots. Drive Drill (10 minutes): use format below to create drills Players pair up at the net. One player feeds easy volleys to the other, who volleys back. Focus on technique, keeping the paddle face stable, and soft hands. Encourage players to move their feet and adjust to the ball's trajectory. Switch roles after every 20 volleys. Third Shot Drop Drill (10 minutes): use format below to create drills Players start on opposite sides of the court. The server hits a deep serve, and the receiver returns it deep. The server then hits a soft third shot drop (a low, spinning shot that lands softly in the kitchen). The receiver moves forward to hit a controlled drop shot back. Repeat the sequence, alternating roles. Emphasize touch and finesse over power. Lob Drill (10 minutes): Players stand at the baseline on opposite sides of the court. Rally groundstrokes (looking for the opportunity to disguise your lob) aiming for specific targets on the court. Targets can include corners, sidelines, and behind your opponents. Encourage consistency and precision. Rotate partners after every 20 shots. Game Situation Practice (30 minutes): Mini Games (15 minutes): Divide players into pairs or small groups. Play mini-games focusing on specific skills, such as dinking only, volleys only, or third shot drop scenarios. Rotate partners or teams after each mini-game. Emphasize communication and teamwork. Simulated Match Play (15 minutes): Players engage in simulated match play, focusing on implementing the skills learned during drills. Encourage players to use a variety of shots, adapt to different game situations, and communicate effectively with their partner. Provide feedback and coaching as needed.
